X-T20 + XF23f2
I take off tomorrow morning for Thailand. A three-week family trip. Finally a real travel !
We go with 2 big bags of 70 and 55 liters and 2 small backpacks.
I just wanted to take two lenses to get the least material possible. A standard fixed focal length 35mm or 50mm and a wide angle. But I can not leave the 85mm at home...
Here is the material that I bring with me :
Bag | Black Diamond Magnum 16. I do not have a "real" camera bag. For the moment I work with an insert and it suits me perfectly. This bag is very light and very comfortable and its capacity of sixteen liters is perfect for day hikes. Ideal to carry my gear pictures, a jacket and water. The inconvenience for me : not enough pockets and complicated to carry a big tripod. I had to buy a rain cover to keep my gear dry during Thai storms...
Insert | Tenba BYOB 7. Waterproof and solid, it contains my camera with a lens attached on it + a second lens + batteries and SD cards.
Camera | Fujifilm X-T10. My camera for 2 years now. He normally lives in his last weeks as the main unit. I look at the more "pro" and tropicalized models.
Lenses | • XF35f2 mounted on the device. My basic goal is everything. I have long hesitated to get the XF23f2 for fear of being too tight in Bangkok with the 50mm but I can not leave my favorite focal length at home. • XF14f2.8 : A very wide angle for landscape photos in the jungle and on the southern islands of the country. • Canon 50mmf1.4 : To make some portraits and to get closer to the animals (if we see some...).
Tripod | I am still in full interrogation level tripod. That's why there are both on the picture. I leave my Manfrotto BeFree at home because we travel light with the bags and even if it is easily transportable it is still a little too bulky. But which one to take between these two ? Manfrotto or Joby ? We'll see tomorrow morning before leaving...
Batteries | 2 Patona batteries in addition to the main battery Fuji to hold at least 2 days without recharging.
SD cards | 3 32GB Sandisk and Kingston cards. According to my calculations it should pass.
Filters | 3 ProND HOYA filters (8-64-1000) for long exposures with wide angle.
Accessories | In the second case Tenba we find a blower, my chargers (Fuji and Apple), the lenspen, a lamp and my headphones.

Update : I decided at the last moment to lend me the XF23f2 instead of the Canon 50mmf1.4. And bring with me the tripod Manfrotto.
Je décolle demain matin pour la Thaïlande. Un voyage de trois semaines en famille. Enfin un vrai voyage !
On part avec 2 gros sacs de 70 et 55 litres et 2 petits sacs à dos.
Je voulais juste emmener deux objectifs pour prendre le moins de matériel possible. Une focale fixe standard 35mm ou 50mm et un grand angle. Mais je n'arrive pas à laisser le 85mm à la maison...
Voici donc le matériel que j'amène avec moi :
Sac | Black Diamond Magnum 16. Je n’ai pas de "vrai" sac photo. Pour le moment je fonctionne avec un insert et cela me convient parfaitement. Ce sac est très léger et très confortable et sa capacité de seize litres est parfaite pour les randonnées à la journée. Idéal pour emporter mon matos photos, une veste et de l’eau. Les inconvénients pour moi : pas assez de poches et compliqué de porter un gros trépied. J'ai dû acheter une housse de pluie pour garder mon matos au sec lors des orages thaïlandais...
Insert | Tenba BYOB 7. Imperméable et solide, il contient mon appareil avec un objectif fixé dessus + un second objectif + batteries et cartes SD.
Appareil | Fujifilm X-T10. Mon appareil depuis 2 ans maintenant. Il vit normalement ses dernières semaines en tant qu’appareil principal. Je regarde du côté des modèles plus « pro » et tropicalisés.
Objectifs | • XF35f2 monté sur l’appareil. Mon objectif de base passe-partout. J’ai longtemps hésité à me faire prêter le XF23f2 de peur d’être trop serré dans Bangkok avec le 50mm mais je ne peux pas laisser ma focale préférée à la maison. • XF14f2.8 : Un très grand angle pour les photos de paysages dans la jungle et sur les îles du Sud du pays. •Canon 50mmf1.4 : Pour faire quelques portraits et pour me rapprocher des animaux (si on en voit...).
Trépied | Je suis encore en pleine interrogation niveau trépied. C’est pour cela qu´il y a les deux sur la photo. Je laisse mon Manfrotto BeFree à la maison parce qu'on voyage léger avec les sacs et même s'il est facilement transportable il est encore un peu trop encombrant. Mais lequel prendre entre ces deux ? Le Manfrotto ou le Joby ? On verra demain matin avant de partir...
Batteries | 2 batteries Patona en plus de la batterie principale Fuji pour tenir au moins 2 jours sans recharger.
Cartes SD | 3 cartes de 32Go Sandisk et Kingston. D’après mes calculs ça devrait passer.
Filtres | 3 filtres ProND HOYA (8-64-1000) pour les poses longues avec le grand angle.
Accessoires | Dans le deuxième étui Tenba on trouve une poire soufflante, mes chargeurs (Fuji et Apple), les lenspen, une frontale et mes écouteurs.
A dans un mois...
Mise à jour : J’ai décidé au dernier moment de me faire prêter le XF23f2 à la place du Canon 50mmf1.4. Et d’amener avec moi le trépied Manfrotto.
